Fox lands Sutherland, Ferguson for pilots
SutherlandFergusonDonald Sutherland has signed on for Fox comedy pilot "Living Loaded," while Colin Ferguson has been cast in the lead of the network pilot "Like Father," from Bill Lawrence. Sutherland joins a cast including Mike Vogel and Michael Freedman in "Loaded," exec produced by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" vets Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Nicholas Frenkel, Michael Rotenberg and Rob Rosell and written by Rosell, McElhenney and Dan Dunn. The single-cam project, from 3 Arts, FX Prods. and 20th Century Fox TV, centers on a hard-partying blogger who takes a new job as a host on a public radio station and is adapted from the book by Dunn. On "Like Father," Ferguson ("Eureka") will play a widower who reconnects with his son by moving into his college campus apartment. Manager Perry Zimel and attorney Jeff Bernstein rep Ferguson. The script is inspired by real-life experiences of Lawrence ("Cougar Town"), who wrote and is directing the pilot, which he will exec produce with Jeff Ingold for Warner Bros. TV. Phill Lewis ("The Suite Life on Deck") and Kevin Michael Martin also grabbed supporting roles on the series. Contact Jon Weisman at jon.weisman@variety.com
