Beyonce Has 'A Quite Strong Part' In Peter Berg's 'Battleship'
For many, the inclusion of celebrity Beyonce in Peter Berg's approaching "Battleship" sticks out like a strange choice. Not for Berg, though. The director spoken with MTV News lately and stated that he's surprised that "nobody had every considered to employ Beyonce" before he earned the phone call. "I had been an enormous fan of her videos," Berg told MTV at Toy Fair now. "Clearly she's sexy, but she'd this real intensity. I am like, 'Someone's getting her.' " For his first ending up in Beyonce, Berg appreciated: "In together with her, she arrived a T-shirt and jeans, no makeup, very natural. She was like, 'Look, I wish to be an actress. Don't hug my ass. As well in my experience. Push me. Treat me while you would every other actor. Help to make me good.'" The end result? "She's really, great in 'Battleship,'" stated Berg. "She's a really strong part." Berg stated that he's keen on music artists buying and selling within their vocals for lines on the movie set, stating several past success tales of music stories who made the leap towards the giant screen. "I have always supported music artists as stars. I'd positive results with Tim McGraw in 'Friday Evening Lights' and 'The Kingdom.' Music artists happen to be acting since Frank Sinatra won an Oscar for 'From Here to Eternity,' " he stated. "Barbra Streisand, Kris Kristofferson, the late Whitney Houston, I figured, was tremendous in 'The Bodyguard.' As lately as Mariah Carey in 'Precious,' she was great."
