Azteca America recruits Braga
Azteca America, the U.S. outpost of Mexico's TV Azteca, has tapped Marlene Braga as VP of programming, effective immediately. Braga previously held the same position at English-language Latino network Nuvo TV (formerly STV). She will be responsible for day-to-day programming and also collaborate on longterm strategy with Alberto Santini Lara, senior VP of programming, production and marketing. Braga founded Woman on the Verge Prods., which focused on high-end content creation from live events to reality series and features. She was also director of programming and production for the the History Channel en Espaol. Her TV experience also includes field production work at ABC and story development and production for PBS. Before moving into TV journalism, Braga was print producer for Conde Nast Publications, Donna Karan, Pixar Animation Studios and the Gap. Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com
